FIFA rates Uganda Cranes best team in East Africa in latest rankings
The Uganda Cranes are the best ranked men's senior national team in East Africa in the latest FIFA rankings.
Uganda has been rated in the 90th position and 18th in Africa. Kenya is 102 position, Tanzania 131, Rwanda 136 and South Sudan 165.
Away from being the 'least-dirty in a pool of mud', the Cranes are yet to live to expectations after failing to register a win against Algeria and Niger in the opening 2 matches of the Afcon qualifiers. Uganda sits rock bottom in the group standings.
Worthnoting, the Cranes have had a steady decline in the rankings having dropped 4 places in the latest rankings and 8 places down since December 2021.
Niger is rated 119 and Algeria 41 making Uganda the second best rated team in the Afcon group. Two teams will progress to the Afcon finals.
