While speaking to Daily Monitor, Matte, who also goes by Mzee Jjemba, said singer Gereson Wabuyi, professionally known as Gravity Omutujju, is among the celebrities that exploited him.
Gravity used me in Tusimbudde video and made false promises - Mzee Jjemba
Godfrey Jjemba Matte, the Kayunga district resident who was made a short-lived celebrity by netizens after being drawn to his style of reading burial announcements, has said most people that courted him for selfish needs have now abandoned him.
“Many celebrities like [musician] Gravity (Omutujju) came here and I recorded a song with him called Tusimbudde. He promised to always take me to where he would hold his concerts but I have never seen him here again. Because I was useful they looked for and used me after which I was dumped,” Mzee Jjemba said during the interview.
The video of Tusimbudde, which was released at the start of this year, rolls out with Jjemba doing a monologue that lasts for the first 25 seconds of the video.
Gravity and some extras are seen standing behind him. He also appears dancing in the middle of the video.
The video, which was directed by Directed Nolton-George, also features TV personality Ssenga Justin Nantume.
In the song, Omutujju belts out: "A lot of people came when we've already kicked off... those looking for us found when we've already kicked off... A lot of people found when we've already kickstarted the journey."
Jjemba, 69, who hails from Mbulakati village in Kayunga district, said there are a number of people who had promised to help him complete his house but they have ignored him.
