The show dubbed the “Pride of the Pearl” concert is slated for July 7th at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel.
Kenneth Mugabi, Myko Ouma, Ssewa Ssewa team up for VIP “Pride of Pearl” concert
Ugandan soul musicians Kenneth Mugabi, Myko Ouma and Sewa Sewa are cooking up a one-of-a-kind music concert, that is being touted to bring out the cream of Uganda’s culture and heritage.

The Pride of the Pearl is organized by events masters, Soul Events Africa.
“The concert is to showcase the culture and heritage of Uganda, the Pearl of Africa,” said Soul Events’ Jonathan Kayongo.
“This is our goal, to show you where this is coming from and why we are doing this.”
Kayongo said they went for the three artists because they “are the best in the country at the moment.”
“We all know Myko Ouma is one of the guitarists and renowned composer. Ssewa Ssewa is a master and creator of the Janzi instrument, also known for his fusion of Ugandan sounds with a range of instruments such as the thumb piano, and the tube fiddle among others. Mugabi is a soulful vocalist and acoustic guitar composer and player.”
Ouma while speaking at a press conference, confirmed that the concert is likely to be an annual event that will continue to explore the country music heritage.
Tickets go for Shs 500k a seat and Shs 5 million for a table of ten.
Kayongo also noted that all concertgoers will be treated as VVIPs.
Kampala Sheraton, the hosts through the Managing Director Jean Philippe Bittencourt announced major room discounts for those trying to stay the night, with a single room going for as low as Shs 150k.
