I left Sipapa's camp in good faith - Elah Butida

Musician Ashraf Makumbi commonly known as Record Elah Butidah, has announced the departure from socialite Sipapa’s music camp called Sipapa Entertainment.

Record Elah was signed to the label early last year during the total lock down when he had a trending hit song called Bakabasajja Banyuma.

While appearing on radio for an interview, Butida says he wasn’t fired by Sipapa nor did he leave because of the current issues around the socialite but he left because he thinks it’s the right time to stand tall alone.

He says he joined the label to learn from Sipapa how to make and maintain money as well as learn a few things about music.

He adds that while he was still at Sipapa’s, his rate card was so high and ever since the events were fully open, few promoters have managed to book him for performances yet such events are another way of pushing and promoting his music.

He says in case a promoter came with money that Sipapa wouldn’t agree on, Sipapa would refuse and instead pay him than performing for small money which something that didn’t work for his brand as well as fans because he needed to be out there in peoples faces.

Butida says he is now a solo artist and currently manages himself with a few people helping him out.

As he part ways, Elah credits and thanks Sipapa for the great love, support and mileage that he has taken his brand.

He says he has over 300 brand new songs that he hasn't released and will be dropping new music soon.

Record Elah Butida now joins musicians like Melody, Serena Bata and Brown Shuga who have called it quits with Sipapa Entertainment.
