Chameleone says Wine, who is now the leader of Uganda's biggest opposition party National Unity Platform (NUP), is now always wary of what could happen to him.

Singer Joseph Mayanja, alias Jose Chameloene took aim at Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, known by his stage name Bobi Wine, saying joining politics has 'stolen' his freedom away from him.

"We used to hang out with Bobi Wine and every time we were moving, we would be like gangsters. But now he walks hiding," said Chameleone in a video shared by Sanyuka TV.
"He no longer has women. He fears them. They might poison him."
According to the Leone Island Music Empire founder, Bob Wine even had to seek permission to attend the concert of Singer Shafik Walukagga, alias Fik Fameica on August 26 at Hotel Africana in Kampala.
"He had to seek permission to attend Fik Fameica's concert," he said.
"That's why I pulled out of the mayoral race and I returned to my normal life," Jose Chameleone said. [In 2021, the ‘Valu Valu’ hitmaker participated in the race for mayor of Kampala City.]
Wine surprised revelers when he showed up with his wife, Barbie; son, Solomon Kampala, and long-time friend Nubian Li to attend the 'Fik Fameica Live in Concert'.
The 41-year-old singer-turned-politician later took to Facebook to praise Fameica during his performance.
"You see dat bwoy #FutureFameica, him badd!" read the Facebook post.
Wine in 2017 surprised many when he ditched his widely successful music career to run as Kyadondo County East constituency Member of Parliament (MP) during a by-election that pitted him against two seasoned candidates – Sitenda Sebalu of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party and Apollo Kantinti of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC).
He won.
In 2021, he took it further and run in the presidential elections on the back of a volatile political career.
Chameleone and Bobi Wine have ways had a tumultuous relationship.
