Teary-eyed Mirundi Junior Says Father is in ICU

Junior, in a conversation with Kasuku, mentioned that it has been nearly two weeks since his father fell ill.

He explained that doctors, including his brother who works at Kisubi Hospital, have been treating Mirundi at home due to his aversion to hospitals.

During the first week of treatment, there was no improvement, prompting them to admit him to Kisubi Hospital on Sunday. He has remained in the ICU since then.

Mirundi Junior revealed that his father is being tube-fed and has not spoken since his admission to the ICU. The doctors have yet to provide the family with a timeline for his discharge.

Junior expressed his gratitude towards those who have shown support, including the Speaker of Parliament Anitah Among, Kampala Central Division Member of Parliament Muhammad Nsereko, Bugiri Municipality MP Asuman Basalirwa, and businessman Hamis Kiggundu.

The family has decided to turn off Tamale Mirundi's phone, and anyone seeking updates on his condition is advised to contact the family directly.

Mirundi Junior remarked on the difficulty of caring for a parent, adding that he misses his father as they often worked on shows together. He mentioned that he sometimes forgets and calls his father, only to be reminded that he is in the hospital.

Tamale Mirundi, a former presidential press secretary, has had previous hospital admissions due to severe health issues.

He has previously stated that the president offered to fly him abroad for the best medical care available, but he declined, believing that his condition required local herbal treatments. He has also previously claimed that he was poisoned.
