The bowl finals slated for Sunday will be an emotional affair for the Ugandan team that came close to achieving the dream qualification to the lucrative HBSC series only to be knocked out by Germany thanks to very scandalous officiation in Chile at the World Challenger Series.

The referee made very controversial calls that enabled Germany muscle their way from a 14-00 lead to a 14-17 win over Uganda that seemed to have progressed.

Heartbroken players broke down at final whistle and some swore to retire from the game altogether. A section of frustrated fans launched an online petition urging World Rugby to review the match, all in vain.

The bowl finals is slated for 10.30 am.
