Dubai Sevens is part of HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, an annual series of international rugby sevens tournaments featuring the top national men’s and women’s teams for a fun-filled weekend at the Sevens Stadium in Dubai.
Uganda summons squad for Dubai Sevens
Uganda Rugby Sevens have been summoned for the Dubai Sevens slated for December 2-3.
Each game of the round-robin style tournament is less than twenty minutes, with fast and intense competition.
The African champions are pooled in group C with European nations France, Ireland and Spain. Defending champions Australia are in Pool A alongside East African side Kenya, South Africa and Great Britain.
Record holders New Zealand are in Pool B with giants Fiji, Argentina and Uruguay while pool D has Samoa, USA, Canada and Japan.
After the Dubai Sevens, the Uganda Rugby Sevens will head for the Cape Town 7s scheduled for December 9-11th .
The new faces summoned to the Uganda team include Jinja Hippos stars Dennis Etwau, Timothy Mugisha and Tawfik Bagalana who won the Nile Special 7s.
