Uganda summons squad for Dubai Sevens

Uganda Rugby Sevens have been summoned for the Dubai Sevens slated for December 2-3.

Dubai Sevens is part of HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, an annual series of international rugby sevens tournaments featuring the top national men’s and women’s teams for a fun-filled weekend at the Sevens Stadium in Dubai.

Each game of the round-robin style tournament is less than twenty minutes, with fast and intense competition.

The African champions are pooled in group C with European nations France, Ireland and Spain. Defending champions Australia are in Pool A alongside East African side Kenya, South Africa and Great Britain.

Record holders New Zealand are in Pool B with giants Fiji, Argentina and Uruguay while pool D has Samoa, USA, Canada and Japan.

After the Dubai Sevens, the Uganda Rugby Sevens will head for the Cape Town 7s scheduled for December 9-11th .

The new faces summoned to the Uganda team include Jinja Hippos stars Dennis Etwau, Timothy Mugisha and Tawfik Bagalana who won the Nile Special 7s.

The summoned players:

Alex Atukunda, Ian Munyani, William Nkore, Michael Wokorach, Nobert Okeny, Desire Ayera, Aaron Ofoywroth, Adrian Kasito, Timothy Kisiga, Karim Arinaitwe, Dennis Etwau, Timothy Mugisha, Jacob Ocen, Tawfik Bagalana, Kizito Roy, Mubarak Wandera, Tukei Aaron, Philip Wokorach.
