Uganda’s MMA fighter David Onama signs new deal with UFC
Uganda’s Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter has signed a new four fight deal with the prestigious Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
Onama competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship Featherweight division.
In his announcement on Twitter, he noted that he is ready for the challenges ahead.
“Proud to announce I’ve sign a new 4 fight deal with the UFC. I’m ready for all the new challenges in front of me. Thanks to the best management team for all their hard work. This wouldn’t be possible without you guys. Thank you for believing in me”, he stated on Twitter.
According to the UFC stats, Onama has an impressive 10 wins in 11 fights registering only one loss.
Of the ten wins, he won six bouts by knock-out, four by submission and only one by judges’ decision.
Onama made his UFC debut on short notice moving up to lightweight against Mason Jones on October 23, 2021 at UFC Fight Night: Costa vs. Vettori. Onama lost the fight via unanimous decision.
Onama faced Gabriel Benítez on February 19, 2022 at UFC Fight Night: Walker vs. Hill and won the fight in a first round knockout leading a long streak of victories.
