Kassim Ouma to face off with Kenyan champion in December
Former International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior middleweight champion Kassim Ouma ‘The Dream’ is set to face-off with a Kenyan champion in December.
Ouma boasts of 47 fights with 29 victories (with 18 knockouts), 17 draws and one loss (29-17-1, 18 KOs).
The USA based boxer will face former Africa Boxing Union super middleweight champion Rayton Okwiri in a 10 round non-title fight in Kampala.
The fight will be hosted at the Cricket Oval in Lugogo, Kampala.
Speaking to Standard Media, Okwiri stated that he is ready to shock the former world champion within four rounds.
“This is one of the easiest fights that I’m having in the recent past and will ensure I knock him (Ouma) out within the first four rounds,” Okwiri said.
“However, I’m not going to underrate him throughout the fight and I look forward to bigger fights in the near future after the fight”.
Okwiri made his professional debut on February 4, 2017, defeating Salehe Mkalekwa at the Crown Plaza, Nairobi.
He won the African Boxing Union middleweight title in his sixth pro fight on June 8, 2019, beating Hussein Itaba.
Okwiri qualified to compete at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics after bagging the gold medal in the 2016 African Boxing Olympic qualifiers.
