Former Presidential Candidate Prof Baryamureeba says ‘I do’

Prof Venansius Baryamureeba, the former Vice Chancellor of Makerere University and 2016 presidential candidate has legalized his marriage.

Baryamureeba exchanged marital vows with his wife over the weekend.

Taking to social media, Baryamureeba shared photos from their church wedding with a caption, “It's done: In this life and the next life. To God be the Glory.”

The computer science professor also commented sarcastically about his decision to wed at such an old age. He is 54 years old.

You know the story of Abraham and Sarah. It takes a lot of faith,” he posted.

Despite living a public life in politics and education for over two decades, Baryamureeba has largely kept his family private.

He is reported to have divorced his wife Jennifer Angeyo, a lawyer, back in 2015.

Later on, speculations started swirling, linking him to other women including the former Kampala District Woman MP Hon Nabilah Naggayi Ssempala, who is now living in Canada.

Nonetheless, many of his followers on social media congratulated him on his new journey and wished him well.
