Netflix to charge an extra fee for shared accounts

Netflix, an online movie streaming platform has gotten over 221.8 million subscribers but there is a current fall of these numbers below their target because of the total lockdown that was brought about by COVID 19.

According to them, weeks to come they will be charging their subscribers a fee of two and three dollars in countries like Chile, Costa Rica and Peru and the fee will be affecting those that add people on their accounts.

Through a post on media platforms, the streaming platform is still on a testing move of charging a fee to whoever adds people to their accounts and those people don’t live in their homes.

Netflix has been chill and so relaxed about people that share their accounts with other people.

They are now looking at a way where one can share their accounts with people outside their home but with an extra fee.

These people will have to change and transfer their account profiles and viewing history to new accounts.

The new changes according to Netflix will first be tested in three countries that’s Chile, Costa Rica and Peru before any other.

According to Netflix, it’s not good news from the quarter of 2022 because the channel has only managed to add 2.5 million subscribers.
