Movie Review: The Adam Project
At a time of combing through a colony of movie streaming platforms looking for watchable stories, Ryan Reynolds travels back in time to save the family-movie-time hero. The actor brings muscle, humor, rage, heartbreak and closure in this hilarious action-packed Sci-Fi adventure.
After the success of "Free Guy", Ryan teams up with director Shawn Levy again for this time travel blockbuster. Reynolds channels his inner “DeadPool” badassery and motormouth, but flexes his “Green Lantern” swag to play Adam. Shawn employs engaging audio remiscent of Micheal Bay's "Transformers", backing utopian visuals and a crisp storyline for this sensational flick.
Adam Reed is a fighter pilot gone rogue who partakes in a mission to disrupt the space-time continuum to save his world. He lands in the year 2022 where he finds his 12 year old self and the two…ehm…he? have to team up and save their future. But first, they have some unresolved issues in the past to put to rest once and for all.
New comer Walker Scobell is straight out of the "Fast and Furious: Hobbs & Shaw" character Victor Locke (Ryan Reynolds) with the sass and clinginess directed at the “man in the mirror” to say the least.
Old Adam finds himself caught between trying to keep his young self alive, fight off villain Maya Sorian (Catherine Keener), save his girlfriend while he faces his unresolved anger towards father, Louis Reed (Mark Ruffalo).
The pilot soon arrives at a few shocking revelations; how deep he is tied to the problem he currently runs from, that his girlfriend is a badass fighter who ironically ends up saving him, and a quiet admission he never dreamed of hearing.
