Moonfall: Halle Berry does it again

Moonfall is the most talked about movie in recent times. The buzz around it is incredible. I can’t recall a time when a movie generated so much excitement.

Halle Berry, the star of Moonfall

This thrilling action-adventure flick is coming to theaters on February 4, 2022. It will be one of the first major big-budget films of 2022, costing $150 million to make!

Halle Berry leads the cast as Jo Fowler. She’s a former astronaut in this. But, wait a minute, who else could play an astronaut better than Berry?

She was born for the role since her talent and looks are simply out of this world.

Her otherworldly ability to channel a kind of innocence and vulnerability is unmatched.

This ability appeals to male viewers who then feel it’s their duty to protect her innocence from any worldly harm.

Certainly, she doesn’t have the kind of sex appeal of a Rihanna…a lady who leaves men with smoke issuing from their ears!

Halle’s power is different, it’s in her ability to project a blankness on her face that ensures the viewer sees her according to his or her fantasy.

There’s a certain distance about her, a coldness which belongs to a domestic cat. Maybe that’s why they chose her to play Catwoman in 2004.

She’s a dreamlike being, commanding a physical response as eyes widen in wonderment whenever she comes into view.

I am not saying this because she’s black, but as the saying goes: the blacker the “Berry” the sweeter juice".

Anyway, as I was saying, she plays Jo Fowler, a former astronaut, and she discovers something that could change the world forever.

She becomes the director of NASA and tries to warn people that what she has discovered involves the moon possibly causing trouble for the earth, but nobody listens to her...until it’s almost too late.

That’s just like Halle Berry to be ignored.

It took her a while to rise, then the 90s happened and she starred in Spike Lee's Jungle Fever in 1991.

The following year, she starred as Eddie Murphy’s leading woman in the movie “Boomerang”.

At that time, her rise almost led to her fall because she accidentally spat in Eddie Murphy’s face!

I’ll let her tell it how it supposedly happened.

The other day, we were…Eddie and I have a love scene and we never rehearsed it. We never rehearsed this love scene ever in rehearsal. I don’t know, but we just didn’t. So I was lying on his chest and I asked the makeup artist before I had to kiss him to bring me a glass of water. So she brought the water over. I took a sip out of it, and before I swallowed it, I looked up at him and I was looking up at an angle," she said.

I will interrupt her story not make an important announcement but to say that Berry noticed Murphy had grey hairs growing in his nose. She couldn’t help but laugh and, “I spit water all in his face and down his shirt. After we got done, the whole place went silent.”

Fortunately for Berry, Murphy found the incident "cool" and now we get to see her pleasantly surprise us all over again in Moonfall.

What a great time to be alive.
