If I was in the movie "Moonfall"

Living in Uganda is like a Ronald Emmerich movie: every moment is lived like an end-of-the-world scenario costarring you and your foot entrenched firmly up your own hindquarters.

Halle Berry in Moonfall

Okay, it’s not that bad.

Emmerich’s movies are really dope, and known for the signature elements which make them sign box office cheques.

Their out-of-this-world, apocalyptic quality will leave you on the edge of your seat every time.

“Moonfall” sticks to this action-packed formula by bringing together the creative energies of all Emmerich’s blockbuster movies such as Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow and 2012.

The movie’s ensemble cast made me connect with each of its principal actors in a special way, so I felt I was in the movie and hanging out with:

Jocinda “Jo” Fowler, the former astronaut works as the Deputy Director at NASA. I felt I was right next to her, asking her about the recent readings from space she discovered and how they showed how the moon was moving out of its orbit towards a collision course with Earth. Then, when she’s finished telling me everything about that, I would ask her out on a date. Sure, she would say “no” because she would be in a hurry to find her former colleague, Brian Harper, so he can join her in saving the world. However, before she would leave to meet Brian, I would tell her that she looks like the award-winning actress, Halle Berry. She would then blush and ask, “really?” That’s when I would tell her that I loved her in Monster’s Ball, for which she won an Academy Award, Catwoman, and in the X-Men franchise as Ororo Munroe / Storm. Then, she would fall into my arms and scream, “make love to me, the world depends on it.”

As Jo and I are making earth-moving love, Brian would be nervously waiting for her to show up. Poor guy, he’s a former NASA astronaut who has been disgraced since his last mission failed. He and Jo worked together on that failed mission, but he took the blame for what went wrong. Now, he’s waiting for Jo to help rescue his reputation while I am rescuing her from a lonely bed. Patrick Wilson, who plays Brian Harper, does well as a tragic hero ready to save the world. We saw him in The Conjuring movie series, where he scared me clean out of my underwear. Then he showed up in Insidious (including the sequel), Aquaman, Watchmen, Prometheus, In the Tall Grass, and the television series Fargo which I also appeared in as on off-camera character. Yeah, movies do have those. Such roles explain how I was able to keep Brian Harper waiting as Jo and I did some “parallel parking” between the sheets.

Then there’s John Bradley’s character K.C. Houseman, or K.C. He’s a nerdy conspiracy theorist who has spent his entire life theorising that the moon is more than what it seems. He also calls himself a “megastructurist” and he has just discovered that the moon has gotten knocked out of its orbit. As he calls NASA, Jo can’t really come to the phone since she is “coming” somewhere else. After Jo and I are done, however, we watch John Bradley act as Samwell Tarly in the 2011 HBO fantasy TV series, Game of Thrones. Damn, if only we knew John Bradley and KC were the same person. Then Jo and I would have asked for a better ending to “Game of Thrones”, something similar to the “happy ending” Jo and I would be enjoying if I was in Moonfall.
