The victory is a sweet revenge for the team Uganda as they had score to settle against the Germans that stood in their way to the lucrative HSBC status in Chile at the World Challenger Series tournament.

Uganda rugby fraternity were left heartbroken after disastrous officiation enabled the Germans muscle a comeback marred by poor officiation that handled them a win on a sliver plate.

Like wounded lions, as fate would have it, the two teams met yet again in the bowl finals in Cape Town offering Uganda a chance to get one over the Germans.

Team Uganda won 19-12 with tries from Philip Wokorach, Ian Munyani and Michael Mokorach. The victory means Uganda has finished the tournament 17th out of 24 teams.

Played on a brutal knock out basis, the World Cup tournament had team Uganda faltering on their first match against Samoa with a round of 16 place at stake. A loss against Samoa on the opening day sent the African champions to the placement games where they have emerged winners.

The victory also means the team have registered a better performance from their 2018 San Francisco World Cup edition where they finished 19th.

The team has had a memorable summer of international engagements that have ushered several top players like Norbert Okeny a chance to shine at the global stage, even better at the World Cup.
