Rugby 7s coach Onyango releases all national team players for Jinja circuit
Uganda Rugby Sevens coach Tolbert Onyango has released all national team players to join their respective clubs ahead of the Jinja edition of the national circuit.
Led by Michael Wokorach, the Uganda Rugby Sevens left a mark in the international rugby scene with impressive performances at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, the World Challenger Series in Chile and crowned the season with the World Cup in Cape Town, South Africa.
They emerged winners of the bowl in Cape Town avenging their controversial loss In Chile against Germany.
Now with two editions left to wrap the national sevens circuit, the national team players will be expected to boost confidence of their respective clubs with the ultimate trophy largely still up for grabs.
Kobs Rugby, the defending champions of the circuit won the Tooro edition last weekend. Jinja Hippos lead the table with 87, Heathens comes second with 85 and Kobs, 74 on the ten-team-log.
The next will be the Kyabazinga Circuit at Bugembe in Jinja and finally the grand finale at Kyadondo Rugby Club in Kampala.
