Renowned music producer Martin Musoke, better known as Artin Pro, named his top four songs of 2022.

"The songs that resonated with me this year... are those that featured new acts... those that I have been able to list feature new producers, new video directors, and new managers," Pro said.

"My list starts with Tonkaka by Alien Skin, Love Olinonya by Liam Voice, then Omega's An-known, and lastly, Hangover by Rickman and Avion King."

Love Olinonya, whose video was directed by Ivash Rs and audio produced by Warren De Professor from RK Recordz, came out on December 3 and the song already has over one million views.

Tonkaka's video came out on August 23 and the song's audio was produced by Gz Beats.

An-known was produced by Spot Music and mastered by Herbert Skills.

Hangover, whose video was released on September 23, was produced by Atin Pro himself.

All the songs have over 100,000 views. Asked by Douglas Lwanga, the co-host of the show, if he thinks the music he listed will last long, Pro said: "I'm lucky that I'm a creative, I've been able to listen to some of the songs before they were released and those that are still under production, and I can tell this will be a great jam."

He emphasised: "We have a bright future here."

Nation Media Group Arts Journalist Gabriel Buule weighed in on longevity, saying: "The problem with such music, the one mentioned by Atin, it's true that the music may stay longer, but will you last as an artiste?"

He added: "There are musicians whose music you don't need to defend... For instance, Forever by Jose Chameleone, it's a song that you will listen to next year... it'll pain you, but you will listen to it because it's a good song [Forever came out in 2021.]."

He went on: "Pallaso... you have no direction... but whatever you touch turns into gold... the only mainstream artiste you can pick for any international festival is Pallaso. Don't even talk about Chameleone, among men, it's only Pallaso. Then, for the females, you think about people like Cindy..."

On his part, Lwanga mentioned Onina by Vinka, Oliwa by Aroma, Gwookya by Vpyer Ranking, Omutima by Lydia Jazmine, Kokonyo by King Fa, Sitya Danger by Alien Skin, Nansanana by Green Daddy, Walwaawo by Pinky and Husband by Chosen Blood.
