The fans were urged to hold Mickie Wine personally accountable over his controversial new music video and to leave the NUP president out of it.
Mickie Wine has over the past week faced backlash for using social media personality Pretty Nicole as a vixen in the music video “Kankutekemu.”
Nicole, whose real name is Emmanuella Musimenta, is said to be 16-years-old.
In the video which has raked over 100,000 views on YouTube, Nicole is dressed skimpily and is seen dancing seductively with the singer.
On top of condemning Mickey Wine for purportedly exploiting a minor, some social media users pushed for Bobi Wine to come out and comment on the issue.
One user on X vowed to make posts every day until Bobi Wine publicly condemns his brother.
However, other Ugandans believe the opposition leader should be left out of the fallout.
Music promoter Andrew Mukasa Bajjo says by his stature as a leading politician in the country, Bobi Wine cannot be brought down to comment on entertainment drama.
“People need to understand that Bobi Wine is well above that nonsense.
He is no longer at the level of sleaze and drama. He is at the level of Presidents Museveni or Ruto and cannot be expected to comment about Mickie Wine and Pretty Nicole,” he said.
“Mickie being his bother is not his fault. Even if you don't like him, put some respect in him.”
Bajjo also believes Nicole must be allowed a chance at money-making opportunities, having endured a rough childhood in the public sphere.
