The two action stars, Chan and Stallone, have not starred in any movie together, even as fans of both would love to see them paired for a major motion picture.
Jackie Chan refused to act in 4 Sylvester Stallone movies
Kung Fu expert and movie star Jackie Chan has turned down four different Sylvester Stallone movies.
Much to the chagrin of their fans, Chan has rejected four opportunities to star alongside Stallone in movies created by the latter.
According to Jackie Chan’s autobiography, Never Grow Up, the first was Demolition Man. Before Wesley Snipes ended as the villain in that movie, Stallone tried to get Chan to accept the part. However, Chan did not want the role of the villain to spoil his clean-cut image of a funny, goofy good guy.
The second offer came in the shape of Rambo 4. This time, Stallone wanted him to play a drug dealer but Chan turned this offer down because it would do the same thing to his image as the role of villain in Demolition Man might have done.
Not stopping there, Stallone wanted Chan for Expendables 2 and Expendables 3. In the case of the second film, scheduling conflicts prevented him from co-starring and he did not want to star in a small role for the third installment.
Although it appears that Chan is playing hard to get with Stallone, but the two almost showed up together in Snafu. However, issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in John Cena getting Stallone’s role. The movie is yet to be released.
Chan and Stallone fans are looking forward to the two appearing together in a movie, possibly where they both play the good guys.
