Museveni praised Chameleone during his speech and the latter has since posted a short excerpt of the speech on his Twitter handle.
In the speech, Museveni acknowledges singing done by artistes such as Chameleone as service.
“He makes us happy and we give him money,” he remarked.
To the video, Chameleone included a caption noting that he is glad his service is felt.
“I am so grateful that my service is felt. Some people want it to happen, some wish it could happen while there’s us who go out and make it happen against all odds,” he tweeted.
Shortly before that, the musical doctor had posted a short picture prelude on the very social media platform in which he is photographed taking advice from the country’s alpha.
It seems like the country’s leader had a ton of advice for the legendary musician as Chameleone included a hashtag, wisdom, to the picture.
Chameleone and the upper echelons of Uganda’s political leadership have endured an on and off relationship that has seen both parties rubbing each other the wrong way before reconciliation.
Chameleone endeared himself to the NRM political party by participating in the 2016 campaign anthem, 'Tubonga Nawe'.
However, tensions seemed strained between both parties in the most recent general elections when Chameleone decided to run for Kampala Mayoral office through an opposition party’s ticket.
Regardless of the political theatrics, Chameleone still remains one of the most coveted artists in Uganda due to his legacy, star power and body of work.
