AK 47 was a Ugandan Dancehall artist, who rose to fame in 2012 with his hit single "Champion". He was the last born of the Mayanja family that comprises Jose Chameleone, Pallao and Weasel.
The Mayanja’s celebrate late AK 47 in memorial service
Yesterday thousands gathered at Kalangalo off Mityana road to attend the late Emmanuel Mayanja aka AK 47’s memorial service.It was also exactly seven years ever since he lost his life.
He died on March 16th 2015 in a mysterious death. It is alleged that the late slid and hit his head on the toilet concrete at the defunct De Ja Vu bar that was located in Kansanga and died at Nsambya hospital.
AK 47 started singing from Jose Chameleone’s Camp Leone Island and later in 2014 he joined Jeff Kiwa’s Team No Sleep music camp.
When he died, he left behind three children. His former fiancé Nnalongo Margaret Kiweesi moved on and she is currently married to musician Rabadaba.
On the day of his memorial service yesterday, his brothers Pallaso and Jose Chameleone took to social media and cried out how they will always miss and pray for him.
According to Pallaso, AK 47 was just murder but wasn’t an accident and he will always pray for however killed his brother.
Many people up to this time still don’t believe the stories of his death and believe he was just murdered.
Pallaso before prayers posted along post on his Instagram saying,
“Someone murdered a Star, a gem, a national asset, my brother in cold blood and got away with it. I wish I could do more but nothing can bring you back. R.I.P. AK 47 may God have mercy on your killer and on your soul as well, I pray for you every day.”
His elder brother Jose Chameleone also commented saying
“Celebrating your life my brother, wounds will never heal, We miss you but so is the way for all of us inevitably.
Got so many memories but that’s all that is left.
Am coming to join in prayer for you. May the angels continue to wrap you and God's mercy be upon you forever Emmanuel Mayanja. Continue to Rest In Peace Kagawandagaza,” said Chameleone.
The late had hit songs like Champion, Kidandali, Ndi Mulokole and Bayuda remix featuring his brother Jose Chameleone.
The memorial service yesterday was highly attended by the close friends to the late, his family as well as journalists.
