Sometimes Ugandans are too much - Sheebah on depression caused by fans, media

Sheebah Karungi opened up about the emotional hardships she goes through due to chaotic fans and sadistic individuals in the media. The "Munyiiza" singer has confessed that if she had the option she would have left the country a while ago because of said fans and media.

She expresses her patriotic affections in spite of the toxic attitudes of a portion of the citizens who wish her ill.

She believes that gossiping, back-biting and falsehood in the media are the main cause of depression and anxiety for a lot of people, especially done by close associations.

"I love Ugandans so much, I'm also Ugandan, and would not trade them for anything. Except if I had somewhere else to run away to, I would have left Uganda long ago. They cause a lot of depression and I would have loved to get away from it if I could," Sheebah Karungi

When the "Nkwata Bulungi" singer first made the allegations of sexual assault, she reached out to create awareness of a social problem. Although she was mysterious about what exactly happened, she addressed the male community on female body rights citing that it is a general issue that many females can't speak about due to fear.

Social media respondents took it upon themselves to come up with theories about the perpetrator while many used it as an opportunity to attack the artist on various fronts from dress-code, to lack of security and others outright calling her an attention seeker.

During the interview held yesterday at a local TV station, Sheebah gave more insight into her incident.

"Men should stop behaving like hens that go around chasing and mounting their fellows. We humans have communication skills for such purposes. You can talk to me, ask me for something and leave room for rejection. If you wish to get close to me, why come around with a soldier?"

While Sheebah cooperates with the police to get justice, she has had to exonerate the 'social media' suspect journalist Andrew Mwenda. Something that she considers unfair seeing as she did not mention him anywhere. Her prolonged silence on the false accusations did not help matters.

She condemns the media who take advantage of uninformed opinions to fuel attacks on victims of any kind.
