Reports that the deejaying duo had separated had been swirling for a while and were made even more believable when they didn't host their annual mixtape party in 2023. In an interview, Roja said they had decided to first push individual projects, with him focusing on, among others, building his music management label dubbed 7Star under which he is nurturing the talent of Jowy Landa who last year dropped some well-received projects. It is also important to note that music events have now become loss-making venturers with most promoters crying in the aftermath, so this could have informed their decision to not host one last year. But people close to them had been saying they were no longer working together.

In an interview with this reporter recently about whether they will host the mixtape this year, DJ Roja couldn't confirm.

Slick Stuart and Roja have been working together for over decade and away from deejaying they even collaborated with singers to receive major hits, a move that was inspired by DJ Shiru.

Their first song was Mutuwulira featuring A Pass. The funky jam was recorded by Nessim when he was still at Badi Music, the studio owned by Bashir Lukyamuzi, alias Badi.

They've also done songs with Allan Toniks (Sunday), King Saha (Very Well), Jose Chameleone (Kigwa Leero), Bennie Gunter and Skales (Pon Mi remix), Cindy and Kemishan (Up In the Air), Nutty Neithan (Walk to Work), Rema (More of This), Bebe Cool and Daddy Andre (Nyimbira), Ykee Benda (Eva), King Saha (Edoboozi Lyo) and Winnie Nwagi (Sumn U Neva Had).
