Singer Jamal's Nansana Impersonator takes 5 million Shillings in Masaka

The artist has taken the case to the authorities who have issued a warrant of the arrest for the suspect. The Nansana resident who changed his appearance to fit the singer's recently conned event organisers in Masaka of 5 million shillings.

The singer revealed in an interview with a local TV station that while the impersonator has managed to fool people with his appearance, he does a bad job of miming his songs which is tarnishing his brand.

Jamal said that he has taken legal action to have the impersonator arrested to answer the charges.

"There is a guy in Nansana who impersonates me. He mimes my songs. What he does that I don’t like, he calls himself Jamal, takes money from people. He was recently in Masaka and took Shs5m to perform. He is short, and he even bleached to look like me. He often performs in Kawempe and Nansana. There is an arrest warrant on him, I will arrest him because that is impersonation," Jamal said

A few weeks ago, 'Bankuza' singer Chosen Becky shared a picture of a payment receipt with her brand on it which she denied being a part of. The receipt showed that the singer had received 1.5 million shilings for a fake show in Ssembabule.

Back in 2019, Geosteady took to his socials to expose an impersonator, one Ssebagala Eddy. The impersonator had stolen Geosteady's signature look, jumper and shades, and taking money from promoters while pretending to be performing upcountry.

Spice Diana was also a victim back in 2018 when three men used her name and a number she had lost to steal money from promoters. The three men had contacted her manager who recognised the number and immediately contacted police to report them.

The R 'n B singer has revealed his plans of putting out new music before the year ends. After a long hiatus from the music scene, he is on a media tour to call attention to his career from his fans and the industry.

He said that he has taken time to incorporate the new urban vibe in his old music with his latest album that will be released soon.

Back in the day, Jamal worked with some of the industry's best to make hits like 'Abakyala' 'Musomesa' 'Ononsonyiwa' among others.
