"For me, it's never too late. Everyone has their time to shine. It's not late for me, I feel like it's a perfect time,” Nwagi said in a video posted on M.E Media Ug (YouTube).
Nwagi also cleared the air on rumoured misunderstandings with the management of Swangz Avenue. There have been reports that her bosses could be sidelining her because of scandals she has been involved in recently. Swangz Avenue is the brainchild of Julius Kyazze and Benon Mugumbya.
Nwagi said no one was against her having a concert when she was asked if the concert came after putting the label under pressure.
"That's not how we work... We wish each other the best. As a team, Swangz Avenue, we work together... Azawi had to come first,” the Malaika singer said.
“God planned it to be like that. But it's now my time and you'll see her there supporting me. If it was about pressure, I'd have had a concert already... Whatever Swangz Avenue proposes, It's what I go with. I signed a contract with them.”
While speaking to media recently, Mugumbya noted that it had started looking like they had denied the ‘Matala’ hitmaker a concert, but clarified that it was because they were looking for a partner to pull off something bigger.
Swangz Avenue wanted Nwagi to have concerts upcountry and they didn't have the logistics to pull it off. So, they have partnered with KT Events to help them with upcountry shows.
The songstress also dismissed claims that she dated Chozen Blood with whom they collaborated on a 2019 hit song titled Yitayo.
"Chozen blood is a brother like you can imagine. We sang a song together and it became a hit, and it made you think we love each other, but he is my brother,” she said.
The duo has been spotted rehearsing together, indicating that Blood could be among performers on her show slated for September 9 at Lugogo Cricket Oval, Kampala.
