"As you all know, KT is one of the leading promoters. We realised we didn't want to hold a forgettable concert. KT has an army across different cities and towns. And it was always our dream to partner with somebody like that, who can help us conduct a successful event, not only in Kampala but also in different towns and cities,” Mugumbya said during a media briefing, adding that KT is just a partner and it didn’t buy the concert.

"Most of you maybe know KT from events. But remember, he has run the most successful band, Eagles Production... So that man, like it or not, on the ground, he is better than us. I don't think we would have done this show. That's why it has taken long. And we've been having a discussion since 2019. We came up with dates, then Covid came. Because we didn't want to do a one-off here in Kampala. So, we are partners, and I know there is a lot we are going to achieve than if we had done it alone.”
KT Events, also known as KT Promotions, is owned by Haji Musa Kavuma. Kavuma, who has been in the music business for over two decades, has worked with most of the top talent in the country, including organising Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine’s Battle of the Champion show in 2012 at Kyadondo Rugby grounds.
Mugumbya said: "We are really, really happy and looking forward to giving everybody a very good experience,.. not only Kampala but also in different towns and cities.”
Winnie Nwagi’s maiden concert is slated for September 9 at Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala.
"We are overwhelmed by her fellow musicians or artistes that want to perform that day... just know when you come, you will be entertained till the show ends,” said Mugumbya, who is also a music producer and film director.
"We know that Winnie is going to give you over a two-hour performance. So, we are very mindful so we don't kill the experience.”
Speaking on behalf of KT Events, music analyst Edward Sendi hailed Swangz Avenue for agreeing to partner with them.
"I thank Swangz Avenue for accepting to work with us. Swangz Avenue is arguably Uganda's number one record label, so we are happy to work with a winner like us," Sendi said.
"They haven't sold us the event... We are partners... I want to clarify that. If you want to go fast, go alone, If you want to go far, go as a team."
According to Sendi, Nwagi’s upcountry concerts will be held in Mbarara on September 10, Masaka on September 11, Mityana on September 16, Entebbe on September 17 and she will wrap up with Mukono on September 18.
