“I was really hoping that I’d be good to go by now, but I suppose I just have to be more patient and follow the regimen that my doctors are prescribing,” Dion said in a statement on her website.
Celine Dion cancels tour dates
The Canadian singer, noted for her powerful and technically skilled vocals, had initially re-scheduled her Courage World Tour dates amid treatment for severe muscle spasms. However the recovery has taken longer than expected and so she has decided to cancel the 19 remaining North American tour dates, from March 9 to April 22.
“There’s a lot of organizing and preparation that goes into our shows, and so we have to make decisions today which will affect the plans two months down the road,” Celine Dion said in a statement.
She had been scheduled to resume her world tour last year in November starting with a performance in Las Vegas after a long stop due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
As part of her tour before the beginning of the pandemic, it said in a statement that Celine Dion had performed over 52 shows.
Celine Dion is one of the best-selling Canadian recording artists of all time, and one of the best-selling French language artists ever. Her music has incorporated genres like pop, rock, R&B, gospel, and classical music.
