Unbeaten West Nile Province 90 minutes away from FUFA Drum trophy

West Nile Province have one hand on the trophy as they face Lango Province in the FUFA Drum finale second leg encounter at the Akii Bua Stadium in Lira.

West Nile Province beat Lango Province 2-0

The White Rhinos, the dominant side of the tournament have been unbeaten from the preliminaries and are now 90 minutes away from their maiden FUFA Drum championship.

Played on a two-legged basis, the FUFA Drum finale first leg was hosted by West Nile Province in the Arua City at the Greenlight grounds. The host capitalised on their home advantage and won comfortably sealing a 2-0 win over the visitors.

Rashid Toha and Fred Amaku found the back of the net to leave Lango Province with an uphill task in the second leg of the finale.

West Nile will be buoyed by their 2-0 aggregate lead over Lango Province and also their excellent record in previous meetings. Lango Province have failed to beat West Nile Province in the last two matches.

Prior to the return leg final, both sides have played seven matches which started at the round of 16 with West Nile winning six and drawing once, scoring a total of 16 goals and conceding one.

On the other hand, Lango have registered three wins, two draws and two losses, netting seven times and conceding five times.

The aggregate winner over the two legs will be crowned champions.

Buganda Province and Acholi Province won the first and second editions in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
