UCU Canons and Lady Canons win the Inaugural KIU 3X3 Tournament

Over the weekend, Kampala International University (KIU) 3x3 Tournament kicked off at KIU Kansanga and Uganda Christian University (UCU) Canons, Lady Canons emerged as winners.

UCU Canons thumped the All-Star Dem Boys 22-17, while the Lady Canons didn’t find any threat as they easily defeated Maureen Amoding’s Aces 17:5.

The winners of the Tournament walked away with UGX 500,000 each, according to Hudson Mugweri.

In his comments after the Tournament, 3x3 Coordinator Nicholas Natuhereza said, “I would like to congratulate the UCU Canons and Lady Canons upon winning the Inaugural KIU 3x3 Tournament, they worked as a team and they got the positive results”

“We shall have more engagements of the 3x3 basketball, infact next weekend the FUBA 3x3 Tournament will tip off. We will use this tournament to select the national teams for Under 23 and National Team ahead of the Upcoming FIBA 3x3 Tournaments in Africa," he added.

3x3 Basketball started a few years back and it is yet to be a popular event in Uganda.
