Health authorities in the East African country started screening for Ebola last year when the deadly disease was confirmed again in the neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo.

Only passengers returning from the DRC were being screened at the airport before WHO's immediate instructions.

All passengers entering through Entebbe International Airport will be screened.

Screening

All passengers at Entebbe International Airport will be screened using an automatic thermal stand.

The automatic equipment will screen passengers' temperatures to detect the deadly Ebola.

Early January, Ministry of Health warned that Uganda is likely to be hit by Ebola as Congolese flee their trouble country after December's presidential elections.

Screening at borders neighbouring DRC resumed in the first week of January after being closed during the elections.

At least 700 cases of Ebola have been reported in the DRC with the country's health ministry putting the death toll to 370 as of January.
