The church insists that this education should be a role done by parents since they are the primary custodians of the learners.
Sex education should be taught by parents, not schools- Catholic church
The Catholic church has doubled down on its rejection of government's proposal to introduce sex education in schools.
The church reasons that if this education is implemented in schools, it will make the country vulnerable to immoral behavior.
These resolutions were affirmed when the Catholic church's education committee met with the education policy review commission yesterday at the Uganda Catholics secretariat in Nsambya.
According to Bishop Sanctus Lino Wanok of Lira Diocese, something has gone wrong because education is being tampered with as all the focus of schools is now on money.
The Bishop further argued that if a teacher is to be promoted to a headteacher, they must bribe their way into the position.
He said that this is not a secret anymore as in Lira he had reports of people paying up to three million for these positions.
The Bishop noted that this is part of the root of the moral decline that is currently being influenced in schools.
