Katikkiro Peter Mayiga lauds KCCA over improved service delivery

The Katikiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga has praised Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) for improving service delivery in the city.

Mayiga, who paid a courtesy visit to Makindye division offices on Thursday, September 28, 2022, was received by His Worship the Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, the Mayor of Makindye Division Kasirye Nganda Mulyanyama and other leaders.

While speaking to residents and leaders at Makindye division offices, Mayiga commended KCCA for improving the road network and sanitation in the city.

He appealed for close working relationship between KCCA and Buganda kingdom to accelerate economic development in the city.

The Katikiro thanked the Lord Mayor, Erias Lukwago for sharing the history about Kampala and appealed for its preservation.

Lukwago presented a copy of KCCA State of Affairs report to the Katikiro. The report that was recently delivered to the Authority, highlights key achievements in education, health, infrastructure and social services in the city.

The Mayor of Makindye, Kasirye Nganda Mulyanyama, thanked Buganda Kingdom for spearheading development projects in city.

He urged Buganda Kingdom to simplify the process of acquiring land titles from Buganda kingdom.

Makindye Town Clerk, Janat Luzinda informed the Katikiro that, the technical staff are dedicated in delivering services. She thanked the Katikiro for visiting Makindye.

The one-day event was attended by high-level dignitaries from government, Buganda Kingdom, high level senior citizens including among others the retired supreme court Judge, George Kanyeihamba.
