The combination of the food, drinks, party and Jinja's scenery has more Ugandans whisking away for the two-for-one prospect of fun.
Jinja's magnetism brings Roast and Rhyme to the town
The 15th edition of Roast and Rhyme kicks off today July 1, 2022 for a three-day weekend of the "Nyam on the Nile".
Thrill-seekers and party-goers are not the only ones buzzing with excitement for the weekend, Jinja Tourism Officer notes an uptick in activity around town.
“As a result of the activities within the Roast and Rhyme weekend, we have already witnessed increased bookings for accommodation facilities and eating places in the city. And thanks to the demand for the source of the Nile, there has also been an increase in revenue earned from it and other complementary tourist sites and attractions around Jinja,“ said Simon Kaita.
On the backdrop of Jinja adventure site Source of the Nile Park, Roast and Rhyme organisers are boosting the experience with fan favourite artists Zex Bilangilangi and Karole Kasita, poetry and freestyle karaoke sessions and a bonfire.
“With this edition, our consumers get to experience the fact that enjoyments can happen anywhere and at any time – as long as they have the right vibe, the right crew, and, of course, cold beer, “ said a representative of one of the sponsors.
The event will end with the lingering sunset on the Nile at Forever Resort, after the Sunday All-white bottomless brunch to accompany the last of revelers' memories of the trip.
The event is being hosted by tourism socialite Vince Musisi, talking and walking attendees through the event and Jinja's miscellany of activities.
