While her second album didn’t have the same melody energy as her first, songs like Juju and Sexy showcased her musical maturity in the industry. They were technically well executed and offered more in variety when it came to her genre.
TBT Song review: Bumper ku Bumper by Grace Nakimera
It is possible to say that while Grace Nakimera was starting out her musical career, no one took her seriously and truth be told it was really hard to. She came as a glamour girl living life on cloud 9 and that’s why she was badly underestimated. It probably worked in her favor. One of her first songs Kiva Kuki flew up the charts thanks to her producer by then Henry Kiwuwa who brought out the best out of her. A sort of RnB afro pop sound backed by catchy melodies while other hit songs like Kawonawo and other hit singles made one thing obvious that Grace was no fluke.
Bumper to Bumper continues a musical journey of a musician that has greatly earned the industry’s respect. Produced by D-king, it’s a feel good afro pop dancehall tune with mastered instrumentation and beats. While melodically it doesn’t reach that of her previous hits like Kiva Kuki, Grace shows off her greatly improved vocal maturity on the song.
The song was well planned as a club anthem of sorts and indeed it really worked as planned. Many people vibe it whenever a deejay plays it.it also worked in a perspective of what Grace can do and in fact better when it comes to this genre musically.
