The couple has been married since 2002 and, in a 2015 interview with Simon Kasyate on Desert Island Discs, Rwabwogo said he met her through a friend.

"And this friend of mine says there is someone I want you to meet and I have been wanting you to meet this girl for the last two years. So, she says wait at this place, this Saturday afternoon, I am going to bring this person," he narrated.

"I said okay, it is one of those fun moments, let me just see this person. That afternoon, Patience comes with one of her sisters, with our mutual friend and we have an introduction, we are just okay."

They met when Patience was still a student and after two years, they decided to tie the knot.

"She is a beautiful girl. Very quiet but very observant. I wasn’t thinking about a relationship at all. It took us two years, having conversations. She was still at school," Rwabwogo said, speaking of his first impression of her.

"She was a simple girl, Simon. She is still that simple, my beautiful girl, I like her. She didn’t have airs; of course I could see security, I could see a guy there, a pickup following her car …when I got to know her deeply, what she values, her relationship with God, her fundamentals, simplicity, the depth of her discussion…you know I like her, she is really smart," he went on.

Speaking the first time he met President Yoweri Museveni and his wife, Rwabwogo said: "We drive to their residence and there they are, the two, waiting for me. Then they say, aahha tell us, what do you want?

"Simon, let me tell you these are simple parents. The aura of office and what you hear sometimes makes people look out of the ordinary. The president is very traditional. There are things you have to do and you have to know them. If you don’t know them, it really doesn’t make sense. Her mom is deeply motherly, welcoming. She makes me feel comfortable…it lasted about 15 minutes. So, you say I am looking for this and they say okay okay, we will come back to you."

Rwabwogo, who is currently a senior presidential adviser, and his wife, who is a pastor, own several businesses under Tomosi Group and, at the time Kasyate interviewed Odrek, they had four children, two boys and two girls.
