Pastor Bugingo and Makula finally appear before court
Founder of House of Prayer Ministries, Pastor Aloysious Bugingo and his new fianceé Suzan Makula Nantaba have appeared before Entebbe's Magistrate Court for hearing of their two counts under the Marriage Act and one count under the Penal Code Act.

Bugingo was accused of bigamy; committing to another marriage by customary law while Suzan Makula was charged with contracting marriage to a legally married person.
Aloysious Bugingo and Teddy Naluswa got married on December 20, 2003 at Victory Christian Centre and hold a certificate number 376.
Bugingo allegedly married Makula on December 7, 2021 in Kawuku, Katabi town council in Wakiso district under customary law.
Early last week, the DPP had declared interest in prosecuting Bugingo and Makula. However, on Monday, lawyer Male Mabirizi filed a case at the court challenging the decision by [DPP] to take over the criminal case against Bugingo at the Entebbe Magistrate's court.
While addressing journalists at the High Court in Kampala on Monday, Male Mabirizi accused the DPP of being “unserious” and saying his [DPP] only interest is not to solve the case but rather kill it.
Mabirizi now wants a judicial review from the High Court to drop and remove the DPP's decision. He urges that DPP’s decision is null and void as per sections of the 1995 Constitution as well as the Magistrates’ Courts Acts.
