The singer travelled to perform in South Africa over the weekend for a series of concerts scheduled to excite his fanbase in the rainbow nation, a perfect opportunity to make up for the years spent in the lockdown due to Covid-19.
Firstly, a group of Ugandans allegedly loyal to Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine threatened to harm the singer for supporting the government at the expense of the opposition.
In a video which he posted online; men who hid their faces flaunted a pistol stating that they would have their revenge on those who support ‘their perceived oppressor’.
“All this is meant to intimidate and fail a fellow Ugandan in the name of self-interests? Well, I guess it’s not the way it should be. My South African fans let’s stay strong and let the music talk! Why Stop the show tonight?” Chameleone’s tweet read.
To make matters more complicated, on the business side of issues, one Zaina Muwonge wanted the singer arrested so that he refunds 11 million Shillings she paid the singer dating back to 2015 for a concert tour that would take place in East London, Durban, Cape Town, and Pretoria.
Despite being fully paid, Chameleone did not show up for the concert and calls to refund the money fell on deaf ears.
Being a seasoned chameleone, the singer camouflaged in his hotel room and allegedly escaped arrest. He performed at Randburg, South Africa on Saturday.
