Chilling with the big boys: Tycoon Ham hosts Akon and Fireboy

Akon, real names Damala Badara Akon was allegedly only visiting to celebrate Eid, he used the opportunity to meet Fireboy who was still in the country.

The Senegalese artist, now full-time entrepreneur, first visited the country last year on a business trip and graced the presidential inauguration ceremony. It was during this trip that the investor announced his vision of an utopian city titled “Akon city” in Uganda.

However, it is reported that the American-Senegalese musician has not followed up on the project despite the government allocating 1 square mile of land for the realization of this vision.

The singer made a return visit to the country on Friday but on invitation from tycoon Ham. The tycoon and Akon met a few months ago at the Dubai Expo, and the two seem have bonded even more over their interest in investment and business.

37-year-old Ham Kiggundu is a famous Ugandan business man with multiple ventures in real estate, technology, education, under his company Ham Group of Companies.

It is suspected that Akon might be abandoning his project with the government in favour of dealing with Ham with whom it is easier to run multiple private investments.

Developments in the Akon city project construction have not been revealed but the enterprise is expected to be complete by the year 2036.
