Uganda Airlines has been given clearance to fly to China
Uganda Airlines many now conduct flights from Uganda to Guangzhou, China, as part of the national carrier’s efforts to become a national airline of repute.

The head of public relations and corporate affairs at Uganda Airlines, Shakira Rahim confirmed the development.
“We have been granted a slot to start scheduled flights to China once a week. The one frequency flight schedule is a phased approach to protect passengers on the Covid infections as we gradually progress to more frequency,” she said.
Uganda and China enjoy strong economic ties in the shape of aid and trade.
In terms of trade, Chinese exports a lot to Uganda and vice versa. This trade accounting for about $850 million.
China's largest exports to Uganda are machinery and electrical equipment, while Uganda's major exports to China include many raw goods such as hides, oils, and seeds.
This trade will be boosted further with the national carrier’s flights to China.
The said flights will be celebrated by Ugandans, especially traders who do big business in Chinese cities.
Uganda Airlines
Uganda Airlines has one of the world's youngest airlines fleets, with an average aircraft age of approximately one year. Narrow-body Bombadier CRJ-900 and wide-body Airbus A330Neo operate a blend of short, medium, and long-haul international routes.
The national carrier currently flies to Dubai which is a mainstay for trade, work and tourism amongst Ugandans.
Additionally, Uganda Airlines recently got rights to start flying to Heathrow Airport in London, UK, however such flights are yet to start due to some technical issues.
