Gov’t roots for promotion of child well-being as Baby&Kids’ Expo returns
The National Children’s Authority has called for collaborative efforts between the public and private sectors to boost children’s well-being in the country.

“We must work together as the government and other partners; local, regional and international to promote the well-being of our children,” he said.
“Being children is the basis of every country, and there is no shortcut to promoting child wellbeing issues.”
Kiiza was speaking at the launch of the second episode of Baby and Kids’ Expo which is slated to open in May this year.
He noted that events such as the Baby and Kids’ Expo are critical in advancing the welfare of children, as spelt out in the recently launched National Child Policy.
The Policy defines child well-being as entailing child survival and health, education and development, meaningful participation, child protection, and systems strengthening.
Kiiza thanked Kiara Events, the expo organizers for coming up with this initiative, and described them as “our ambassadors.”
The second edition of the Baby and Kids Expo is slated for May 10th to 12th, 2024, at the UMA Show Grounds, Lugogo.
Kiara Events is organizing the event in collaboration with esteemed such as Kids Nook, Capital One Group, KBS TV, Belly Ballot, Bora Minds, Mama Tendo among others.
This year's event is running under the theme, "Inspiring Children's Health, Skills, Learning, and Parenting.
Joweria Nabuuma, Managing Director of Kiara Events Limited, expressed excitement about the upcoming expo, emphasizing the effort put into ensuring that families are presented with unparalleled resources and expertise in child care and development.
"This year, we're aiming to elevate the experience for our attendees, providing a platform for families to connect, learn, and play together in a way that's both educational and fun," Nabuuma said
Catherine Ruhweza aka Mama Tendo said the expo will offer a range of activities, knowledge-sharing sessions, and access to services and products designed to improve children's lives.
“From talent shows to counselling sessions, the expo is a one-stop centre for nurturing talent and health practices. With an increasing demand for baby and child-related products across East Africa, the expo also serves as a crucial platform for exhibitors to interact directly with their audience, offering insights and special deals on a plethora of products for babies, kids, and expectant mothers,” she said.
Entrance to the expo is 10k for adults and 5k for children.
