As tourism and commerce flourish across the continent, the aviation industry has become important in facilitating travel and trade.

Boeing forecasts a surge in intra-African passenger traffic over the next two decades, with numbers expected to skyrocket more than fourfold. This growth trajectory positions Africa's aviation sector among the fastest-growing worldwide.

The continent's air traffic growth is expected to soar at a rate of 7.4%, ranking as the third highest among global regions. This surpasses the global average growth rate of 6.1%.

To accommodate this expansion, more airplanes will be required in the region over the next twenty years.

As a result, African airlines and aviation companies have been investing heavily in expanding their fleets and networks. This involves replacing older aircraft with newer, more efficient models to meet evolving passenger demands and improve operational capabilities.

This fleet expansion covers a range of aircraft types, including passenger planes, cargo planes, and helicopters. Business Insider Africa, earlier reported how Ethiopian Airlines made history as the first African customer of Boeing 777X.
