Away from the Biblical Samson and Delilah tale, Mubiru is a living man of extraordinary strength and is aiming at breaking a world record or winning the title of the strongest man in the world.

Uganda’s very own Roy Mubiru who is based in the United States of America has qualified for the 2023 World Strongman Championships. He becomes the first Ugandan to achieve the feat in the field of power-lifting, a path hardly taken in the country.

Mubiru saw off competition in the 110-body weight and 50 plus age category in the Massachusetts State Championships held in Pea body MA where hundreds of elite athletes competed. He competed in the Supercar deadlift, Viking Press, Arm Truck Pulling, and Canon Wheel Walk where he posted impressive performances.
