According to him, Morley needs some good time to prepare the team if they want to bring it back to its glory days of winning trophies. He believes the current form and results of the team especially in the Start times Uganda premier leagues is as a result of Morley being a bad coach.
Morley Byekwaso needs more time at KCCA FC - Jackson Mayanja
Kampala City Council Authority FC, ex player known to many as Mia Mia but born Jackson Mayanja has come out and asked the teams officials to continue giving the current head coach Morley Byekwaso time for him to build the team for better results in the coming years.
Ever since the season started, KCCA has managed to win eleven matches and drawn nine matches and only been defeated once. KCCA is currently in the second position with seven points below table leaders Vipers SC.
However, KCCA was eliminated from the Stanbic Uganda Cup by Soltilo Bright Stars FC at the Round of 32.
As many fans were suggesting for Byekwaso to be sacked off the team, Mayanja says that’s not the best solution and believes the head coach still needs time to put his team together.
“I believe in Morley’s tactics and coaching skills and I call upon the club management and officials to consider giving him more time,” said Mayanja in an interview with media.
“This is the first time he is handling a full season with the team and he needs time and space to inject his skills and tactics to the team that’s got several new players,” Byekwaso added.
Byekwaso says new team players also need time to fit in the squad as well as mastering Morley’s coaching tactics. He also adds that the new players on the team need time to interact and get to know each other which the coach can’t do in a short period of time because it’s a process.
For the past two matches, Morley Byekwaso has been off the touchline because of health related issues.
This season in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, KCCA has won eleven times but has drawn on nine occasions, suffering defeat only once. They lie second on 42 points, seven adrift of leaders Vipers SC.
