The Monarch, who made the statement during a Thanksgiving service at St. Paul Cathedral in South Rwenzori Diocese in Kasese District at the weekend, was referring to politicians in the Kingdom who, he said, divide the people because of their selfish interests.
Mumbere cautions 'selfish politicians' on dividing the Kingdom
Peace, security, unity, and coexistence are virtues any society would need to advance, the Rwenzururu King, Charles Wesley Mumbere, said in a recent public engagement.

“Politicians divide the kingdom and her people because of their selfish interests and motives; all these practices should immediately stop. Anyone who is planning to come and see me with the intention of winning favours from me so that the people should think he or she is clean should not come to the palace,” Omusinga said.
Mumbere said that the kingdom was misrepresented to the Ugandan Government by some people who gave the impression that the King was hostile to other ethnic groups in the Rwenzori Sub-region.
Omusinga also addressed the subject of the Yira state, explaining that the kingdom had experienced uncertainty with the central administration, which he blamed on "Kabudunga," or traitors within the kingdom, who had caused disturbance and instability.
He emphasised that the 2016 events were precipitated by erroneous allegations that the monarchy was complicit in a Ugandan independence conspiracy. He went on to say that even if the Kingdom had considered establishing a separate state, the name "Yira" would not have been picked.
“Traitors should come, and we should work together before they feed the central government with false information. I am also asking the central government to first come and get clear information from us before they plan to wage military operations on innocent people and their intuitions like they did when they attacked us,” he said.
He said that prior to his return on October 4, he had discussions with President Museveni about sub-regional peace and development strategies. During her speech, Queen Agnes Ithungu Asimawe stated that she will resurrect the Rwenzururu Nyabaghole Development Foundation to teach young ladies in a variety of areas, including reproductive health.
