Bobi Wine took issue with the minister’s recent demand for the opposition party to write a formal request for the release of their incarcerated supporters.
Bobi Wine: Balaam will be fine
NUP President Bobi Wine on Thursday hit back at the newly appointed State Minister for Youths and Children Affairs, Balaam Baruhahara, accusing him of being “disingenuous.”

Balaam reportedly asked for the request document to be signed by the top leadership of the NUP led by Bobi Wine himself.
At a press conference this Thursday morning, the opposition leader noted that Balaam’s initial request to be furnished with the list of all jailed NUP members was fulfilled through parliament.
“Yet when the list was provided, now he is asking that we write a document and append our signatures to it. What kind of nonsense is that?” he said.
“Balaam needs to be schooled about how the law works. He seems to suggest that there is no rule of law and that the courts are impotent and in fact useless.”

Bobi Wine also said the new minister will soon realize the type of person he serving, just like others before him.
“What Balaam is saying, (Nobert) Mao said just when he’d been appointed the Minister for Justice and Constituional affairs. But where is he now? He is also out there complaining,” remarked the NUP leader.
“Balaam will be alright. Let him eat his food, and put on his suits or t-shirts but should know that he is not the first to be used by Museveni.
“Museveni can have 1000 useful idiots but that does not change the fact that Uganda is a constitutional republic and we are equal before the law.”
