Different year same struggles. Back to school stresses, adjustments, racking up the cash that was splashed at the end of the previous year, new goals. This is not to say that people are not getting down to business.

Some especially more than others.

Here's how we imagined them.

1. The 'side- baes'

These one are just getting attention after their lovers spent weeks with their main families. They are taking time off social media while everyone else is getting back online. Taking a small vacation before school time and work fully resumes.

2. Those who are getting back together

These ones have reconnected over the holidays or "happy new year" messages and sentimentality.

The spark has resurfaced and they cannot keep their hands off of each other.

3. Those who are scared of breaking up

Those in the process of breaking up but trying to stick around in fear of the single life or lack of intimacy or the good physical chemistry they share.

The festive season is not devoid of sad moments. In fact, the merriment some times only makes us realise how unhappy we are.

This leads to a lot of couples breaking up. Others use the end of the year as a moment to end a period in their lives. Not all cuts have be clean, they are going through the breaking up.

4. The ones getting over someone

These ones are in the rebound phase after a stinging break up. Whether they want revenge, to feel better.

They are also posting about moving on and making comparisons, probably checking if their ex is moving on or hearing about all the rave they are having.
