5 reasons you should consider NOT wearing underwear

Choosing to skip putting on underwear might be harder than choosing which of your underwear to put on. But should you wear any at all?

5 reasons why you should consider NOT wearing underwear

If you feel uncomfortable about having to stop wearing underwear, here are five benefits that might convince you:

Skip underwear if you want an instant lull into dreamland, and a full night of uninterrupted sleep. In fact, consider skipping all clothes.

According to doctors at Healthline, the body's ideal temperature for sleep is 65 degrees Fahrenheit. But even in cold weather, with underwear, pyjamas, your partner and a duvet, you might be too warm to drift off easily.

"Sleeping naked can help the skin cool off faster, which may help lower body temperature and allow a person to get to sleep sooner," Medical News Today said.

Acid reflux is a fairly common disease but even if you have never had to deal with it, wearing tight underwear over a period of two weeks could trigger it.

However, it depends on how high your underwear reaches, meaning that high-rise and tight underwear, unlike hipsters, is more likely to squeeze your stomach and force stomach acid up your throat. When the acid settles there, expect an onset of heartburn.

Underwear could be contributing to infertility, because it upsets body temperature essential for quality sperm production.

"To produce sperm efficiently, the testicles need to stay at about 94 degrees Fahrenheit," Healthline explained. This temperature is a little cooler than the average body temperature which sits at 98 degrees Fahrenheit.

Therefore, wearing tight underwear or a boxer brief will heat up your crotch while squeezing it against your hot body, and result in a lower sperm count. Research regarding how underwear brings on infertility is mixed but allowing fresh air in does not hurt.

A survey conducted by ShopSmart magazine indicated that, 25 per cent of women reported that they would feel embarrassed if someone knew what some of the underwear they wore looked like. Another 25 per cent said that they have felt their "mood affected by wearing an ill-fitting or unattractive pair of underwear."

Getting rid of the underwear might be a way of fixing this confidence issue. Moreover, not wearing underwear could improve libido

Yes, not wearing any underwear at all could make you feel great. "It may just boost your libido," New Jersey obstetrician and gynaecologist Maria Sophocles told Women's Health.

In addition to improving hygiene and vaginal health, it makes it easier to start up sex in you are in the mood.

The aeration could do wonders for your bum skin pores. Butt acne is a symptom of folliculitis caused by clogged pores due to trapped sweat or friction.

Instead of rushing to get a remedy for these inflamed hair follicles, try skipping underwear and wearing loose clothing to support your sensitive skin.
