15 hours to Muhoozi birthday party: What you need to know

First son Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s 48^thbirthday party is upon us and one would be right to say has long been awaited. For some reason, Muhoozi has displayed high levels of excitement about his upcoming birthday, tweeting constantly about it for the last three weeks and causing the rest of Ugandans, especially those on Twitter, to be excited as well.

And now, it is about 15 hours to go for the gates at Lugogo Cricket Oval to open and unleash unlimited entertainment and celebration upon Kampala. Here are few things you need to know:

It’s free entry for everyone

The organising committee put the question of attendance to rest when they invited all that are willing to come and be a part of the celebration. So if you have a free Saturday, head out and rub shoulders with the first family, the generals, and the who’s-who of Uganda’s political and social elite.

No dress code

Wear whatever makes you feel good. According to Muhoozi himself, there is no dress code that every attendee is expected to follow. Even red t-shirts are apparently allowed in the party but probably a red beret would be going a little too far. Throw on your party wear and show what your mama gave you.

Muhoozi announced on his Twitter that:

“Once again there are NO political parties at #MKAt48 birthday party. There are no preferred colours. Come in any colour you want. Like the late Bob Marley sang 'One Love'.”

Bushenyi hosting a party too

There is going to be a Muhoozi birthday party in Bushenyi too, apparently, so if you are in the west, plot for you. Events guru Balaam Barugahara announced the Bushyenyi version on his handle saying.

“Greater Bushenyi Gen @mkainerugaba Task Force all is Set !! Join us at Bushenyi main ground Kizinda Ishaka this evening for the Kasiki of the Century. Thank You local Organizing committee.”

There is a marathon

There is a pre-party marathon dubbed #MKAt48 MARATHON happening at Kololo airstrip starting at 7 am and Muhoozi will flag it off himself. Here is an announcement from senior committee member Andrew Mwenda.

“@mkainerugaba will officially flag off the #MKAt48 marathon from Kololo airstrip on Saturday April 23rd at 7am as the first event to mark his 48th Birthday. He will be accompanied by generals Leopard Kyanda, Serunjogi Damulira, Don Nabaasa, Johnson Namanya and James Birungi.”

The party is now officially a party, one hopes there shall be an after party
