This was revealed in a statement issued by FIPRO on Tuesday, March 21.

FIPRO cited the unavailability of the venue, Kololo Independence Grounds, as one of the reasons for the postponement following communication from Government of Uganda that an important Government event would take place at the venue during the same period.

We would like to inform you that due to unforeseen circumstances, the venue for the East African Procurement Forum and Business Expo has become unavailable. Two days ago we were informed that the government of Uganda has another important function set to happen at Kololo Ground on March 23-24, 2023,” the statement read in part.

It further read: “With prioritisation of that government program we regret to inform you that the East African Business expo that was scheduled to take place at same venue from March 23-26, 2023 has been postponed.”

“We are currently working on new dates for the event which will be communicated to you before end of this week. We understand that many of you have made preparations and arrangements for this event. We want to thank you for your understanding and patience during this time. We look forward to welcoming you to the rescheduled event and providing a valuable experience for all participants.”

East African Procurement forum will include East African Business Expo which will attract procurement professionals and key industry suppliers from the 7 East African countries to share knowledge, best practice, network as well as avail opportunities for suppliers to showcase their products, goods and services.
